This is the 1st time I'm doing this so bear with me if I ramble. So it is the start of a new school year and my 7 yr old is in 2nd grade. This will be a tough yr due to trying to get the school to test for a reading disability. I already feel like I am hitting a brick wall when I called the Guidance office to get things started. It is just the start of the 2nd week of school but I thought the sooner the better. Just the little bit of reading she has had so far has been real hard to listen to let alone help with. In first grade she had reading every night of every week and it was battle. I know that I will have to go in a talk face to face with several people and strongly voice my concerns over this. I may even have to fight tooth and nail to get it done. I just hope that I can be strong enough to get the major hurdle over. Convince the school that there is a problem.
